No — we have protected ‘friendly hours’ (also known as ‘friendly credit’) when your meter won't disconnect your supply, even if you’ve used all of your credit and Emergency Credit (if applicable):
- Monday–Friday (GMT): protected from 3pm to 9am the next morning
- Monday–Friday (BST): protected from 4pm to 10am the next morning
- Weekends: protected all day and night
- Bank holidays: protected all day and night
During these ‘friendly hours’, your supply will not disconnect if you run out of credit. Any standing charges and debt repayments will continue to accrue and will be deducted from your next top up.
Bear in mind that you will need to have some credit (or Emergency Credit) left on your meter for friendly hours to apply. If you run out of credit before friendly hours begin, you’ll need to top up to re-connect your supply.
If you don't top up before the end of friendly hours, your supply will cut off once the period ends.
