How to Enter Your Top-Up Code

Step-by-step:

  1. Press the red A button to wake up the meter.
  2. Press button A repeatedly until you see “Credit Entry.”
  3. Press the black B button to select “Yes.”
  4. Enter your top-up code (UTRN):
    • Press button A to scroll through numbers 0–9 until you reach the correct digit.
    • Press button B to move to the next digit.
  1. Repeat until all digits have been entered correctly.
  2. Once complete, press and hold button B for a few seconds to confirm the code.
  3. The meter will process your top-up and confirm that it has been accepted.

How to Turn Your Gas Back On

Before restoring your gas supply, make sure all gas appliances are switched off for safety.

Follow these steps:

  1. Press and release the black B button.
  1. The screen will display “Appliances OFF? Hold A for Gas.”
  2. Press and hold the red A button until you see “Release A for gas.”
  3. Release the A button and wait.
    The screen will display “Please Wait… Opening Valve.”
    (This may take around 30 seconds.)
  1. Once complete, the screen will return to your credit balance, and your gas supply should be restored.

Important:

  • If the meter detects gas flow while turning back on, it will switch off again for safety.
  • If this happens, check that all appliances are fully turned off and repeat the steps above.

How to Activate Emergency Credit

When Emergency Credit is available, your meter will display “EmCr Available.”

Please note:

  • You’ll need to repay any Emergency Credit you use.
  • The amount owed will be deducted from your next top-up.
  • Your balance may include additional charges such as standing charges or any agreed repayments.

How to activate it:

  1. Press and release the red A button until the screen shows “Accept EmCr?”
  1. Press button A, then press button B to confirm.
  2. Once activated, the display will change to show two lines:
    • The top line shows your current balance (credit or amount owed) and will display “ON.”
    • The bottom line shows how much Emergency Credit remains, for example “EmCr £xx.xx Rem.”

  4. The top line will continue to update, showing any amount you need to repay, including Emergency Credit used and any other charges.

How to Enter Your Top-Up Code

Step-by-step:

  1. Press any button to wake up the display.
  2. Press button C to open the menu and select “Prepayment.”
  3. Press button B to scroll to “New Payment.”
  4. Press button C to select it.
  5. The screen will display “Enter UTRN.”
  6. Enter your 20-digit top-up code (UTRN):
    • Use the up arrow (button A) to scroll through the numbers until you reach the correct digit.
    • Press the right arrow (button B) to move to the next digit.
  7. Repeat until all 20 digits have been entered correctly.
  8. Press button C to submit your code.

If successful:

  • The screen will display “Top Up Accepted”, and then return to the menu.

If there’s a problem:

  • “Invalid Top Up” will appear, and the meter will return to the “Enter UTRN” screen.
    Re-enter the code carefully and try again.

How to Turn Your Gas Back On

Before restoring your gas supply, make sure all gas appliances are switched off for safety.

Follow these steps:

  1. Press any button on the front of the meter to wake up the display.
  2. Press button A.
    The screen will display “Safe Open Sequence.”
  3. The meter will begin a series of checks and countdowns while it safely reconnects your supply.
  4. Once complete, the display will return to the main screen, and your gas supply should now be restored.

Important:

  • If the meter detects gas flow during the process, it will turn the supply off again for safety.
  • If this happens, make sure all appliances are fully turned off and repeat the steps above.

How to Activate Emergency Credit

When your meter balance drops to £2 or below, you can access Emergency Credit to keep your supply on.

Please note:

  • You’ll need to repay any Emergency Credit you use.
  • The amount owed will be deducted from your next top-up.
  • Daily standing charges will continue to apply and will be taken from your balance.

How to activate it:

  1. Press any button on the meter until you see “EC” or “Emergency Credit” on the display.
  2. The screen will show the amount of Emergency Credit available.
  3. Press the B button to confirm that you want to use Emergency Credit.
  4. The credit will be automatically added to your balance.

How to Enter Your Top-Up Code

Step-by-step:

  1. Press the blue A button on your meter.
    The display will show “Vend Mode.”
  1. Enter your 20-digit top-up code (UTRN) using the keypad.
  2. If you make a mistake, press the blue A button to delete the last digit.
  3. Once all 20 digits have been entered correctly, press the red B button.
  1. Your top-up will be processed. If successful, the screen will display “Accepted.”

If there’s a problem:

  • “Rejected, Duplicate”
    The top-up has already been credited to your meter.
  • “Rejected, Incorrect”
    The code was entered incorrectly—please try again.
  • “Rejected, Incomplete”
    The full 20-digit code was not entered—please start again.
  • “Rejected, Invalid”
    The code is not for this meter. Check that you are using the correct meter (for example, electricity or gas).

How to Turn Your Gas Back On

  1. Press the blue A button.
    The meter will light up and display “PRESS A TO CONNECT.”
  2. Press the A button again.
    The screen will display “PRESS B TO CONFIRM.”
  3. Press the B button to confirm.
  4. Your gas supply should now be reconnected.

How to Activate Emergency Credit

If you can’t top up your meter, you can access Emergency Credit to keep your supply on.

Please note:

  • You’ll need to repay any Emergency Credit you use.
  • The amount owed will be deducted from your next top-up.
  • Daily standing charges will still apply and will be taken from your balance.

How to activate it:

  1. Press any number button on your Liberty 100 or 110 smart meter keypad until you see “EC” or “Emergency Credit” on the display.
  1. The screen will show the amount of Emergency Credit available.
  2. Press the A button to confirm that you want to use Emergency Credit.
  3. The credit will be automatically added to your balance.

How to Enter Your Top-Up Code

Step-by-step:

  1. Press and hold the right-hand button to wake up the meter.
  2. Press and hold the right-hand button again to access the menu.
  3. Continue pressing and holding the right-hand button until you reach the “Top Up” option.
  4. Press and hold the right-hand button to enter the Top Up menu.
  5. To enter your top-up code:
    • Press and hold the right-hand button to scroll through the digits.
    • Press and hold the right-hand button to select each digit.
  6. Repeat until all digits have been entered.
  1. Once complete, press and hold the right-hand button to submit the code.
    The meter display may briefly turn off.
  2. Press and hold the right-hand button to wake the meter again.

How to Turn Your Gas Back On

Before restoring your gas supply, make sure all gas appliances are switched off for safety.

Follow these steps:

  1. Press and hold the right-hand button to wake up the meter.
  2. Once the display is on, press the right-hand button to scroll through the menu options.
  3. When you reach the “Enable” screen, press and hold the right-hand button.
  4. The screen will change to “Enabled.”
  5. Your gas supply should now be restored.

How to Activate Emergency Credit

When Emergency Credit is available, your meter will display a message such as “Press Return for Emergency Credit” in rotation.

Please note:

  • You’ll need to repay any Emergency Credit you use.
  • The amount owed will be deducted from your next top-up.
  • Your balance may also include standing charges or any agreed repayments.

How to activate it:

  1. Press and hold the return button.
    (This is the left-hand button with the return symbol.)
  1. The screen will display “EC Remain” along with the amount of Emergency Credit activated.
  2. Emergency Credit is now active on your meter.
