How to Enter Your Top-Up Code
Step-by-step:
- Press the red A button to wake up the meter.
- Press button A repeatedly until you see “Credit Entry.”
- Press the black B button to select “Yes.”
- Enter your top-up code (UTRN):
- Press button A to scroll through numbers 0–9 until you reach the correct digit.
- Press button B to move to the next digit.
- Repeat until all digits have been entered correctly.
- Once complete, press and hold button B for a few seconds to confirm the code.
- The meter will process your top-up and confirm that it has been accepted.
How to Turn Your Gas Back On
Before restoring your gas supply, make sure all gas appliances are switched off for safety.
Follow these steps:
- Press and release the black B button.
- The screen will display “Appliances OFF? Hold A for Gas.”
- Press and hold the red A button until you see “Release A for gas.”
- Release the A button and wait.
The screen will display “Please Wait… Opening Valve.”
(This may take around 30 seconds.)
- Once complete, the screen will return to your credit balance, and your gas supply should be restored.
Important:
- If the meter detects gas flow while turning back on, it will switch off again for safety.
- If this happens, check that all appliances are fully turned off and repeat the steps above.
How to Activate Emergency Credit
When Emergency Credit is available, your meter will display “EmCr Available.”
Please note:
- You’ll need to repay any Emergency Credit you use.
- The amount owed will be deducted from your next top-up.
- Your balance may include additional charges such as standing charges or any agreed repayments.
How to activate it:
- Press and release the red A button until the screen shows “Accept EmCr?”
- Press button A, then press button B to confirm.
- Once activated, the display will change to show two lines:
- The top line shows your current balance (credit or amount owed) and will display “ON.”
- The bottom line shows how much Emergency Credit remains, for example “EmCr £xx.xx Rem.”

The code is not for this meter. Check that you are using the correct meter (for example, electricity or gas).
